Patricia Ann Griggs, 33, died of cancer Saturday at the Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. She was born May 1, 1950, in Barre, the daughter of Kenneth O. and Bessie (Blanchard) McFarlane. She attended school in Chelsea and in 1968 graduated from Chelsea High School. She had lived in Chelsea all of her life. She was a secretary several years at the Vermont Tax Department and the Vermont Department of Social Services, working in Montpelier and Waterbury. For four years she was a secretary for the Orange County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in Chelsea. She was married May 11, 1974 to Stephen A. Griggs of Chelsea. She enjoyed making homemade chocolates and she taught others how to make the candies. She is survived by her husband; her parents of Howey In The Hills, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Douglas (Brenda) Gile, of Howey In The Hills, Fla.; her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary McFarlane of Chelsea; her maternal grandparents, Mrs. Bernice Blanchard of Randolph and Artie Blanchard of Inverness, Fla.; several aunts and uncles, a niece, three nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. in the Chelsea United Church. The Rev. Stephen F. Horell and the Rev. Robert Castle will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemtery in Chelsea. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the Vermont Division of the American Cancer Society, 13 Loomis Street, Montpelier, Vt. 05602. The Boardway and Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea is in charge of arrangements.

1. David O. Griggs, 59, of Bloomfield, Vt., died late Thursday evening, July 11, 2013, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, with his family by his side. He was born in Brookline, Mass., on January 1, 1954, a son to the late Harold and Stella (Twofoot) Griggs. When David was a young boy, the family relocated to Newport, Vt. David was a graduate of Newport High School. David's life was spent as a jack-of-all-trades, specializing in general maintenance. He worked for many years for Hayes Ford in Newport, doing everything from operating the dealership's flatbed truck, plowing snow, and helping to work on cars. After moving his family to Bloomfield, David worked in the maintenance department at The Balsams for 12 years, and he made many friends there. David loved to play golf and tennis, and he was an accomplished bowler, at one time belonging to the bowling league in Newport from which he was proud to display his trophies. He also loved to go boating and fishing, and was always looking for a place to put his boat in the water. He enjoyed trips to Hampton Beach, and he loved any gathering of his family. David will always be remembered as a kind, gentle man, with a wonderful sense of humor. David leaves behind his wife of more than 20 years, Erbena (Estes) Griggs of Bloomfield; a son, David J. Griggs of Bloomfield; his daughter, Tracy Kane of North Stratford, NH; two step-sons, Clifton Estes of Columbia, NH, and Steven Austin and wife Tonya of Canaan, Vt.; three brothers, Larry and Steve Griggs of Chelsea, Vt., and Doug Sherlaw and wife Brenda of Newport, Vt.; two sisters, Tracy Paul and husband Claude, and Bonnie Little, all of Newport; and four grandchildren, Vladimir Austin, Conner Austin, Saber Austin, and Leotie Kane. He is preceded in death by a sister, Joyce McCoy.

HARDWICK - Lori Salls, 19, a resident of Hardwick, passed away June 28, 1 986, in Morristown. Born in St. Johnsbury, Sept. 24, 1966, she was the daughter of Raymond G. and Sharyn (Smith) Sails Jr. A 1984 graduate of Hazen Union High School of Hardwick, she was a member of the United Church of Hardwick and active in the Girl Scouts. She is survived by her parents; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith, her paternal grandfather, Mr. Raymond Sails all of Hardwick; her paternal great-grandmother, Blanche Sails, her maternal great-grandmother, Gertrude Gamble.   1931 M i Michael Cameron Lerro was born on 9 Jun 1990 in Hartford, Hartford Co., CT. He died on 15 Feb 2021 in Killingly, Windham Co., CT.

1. Obit: Michael Cameron Lerro, 30, of Killingly, CT. and formerly of Toronto, Ontario CA and Colchester, CT., passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021. Born June 9, 1990 in Hartford, CT; he was the son of Donald and Tammy (Chapman) Lerro. Mike grew up in Colchester where he was a graduate of Bacon Academy. He went on to study and graduate from McGill University in Canada and later Yale University, where he earned his Master’s degree in Public Health Administration/Epidemiology. He was currently pursuing his Doctoral degree in Public Health through the University of Toronto.
Mike had a great sense of humor and a bright spirit that was contagious to those around him. He had an amazing ability to make others laugh and loved having fun with his family and friends. His witty humor, friendly personality, and loud, rolling laughter brought smiles to all those around him. Mike enjoyed anything and everything related to music, including playing guitar and going to concerts. He had a creative touch and spent much of his free time thinking up new culinary experiments and building things for the home. He loved playing ice hockey and was a life-long fan of the sport.
Mike is survived by his wife Jessica Lerro and their son River Lerro; father Donald Lerro of Colchester, CT; his mother Tammy Lerro and stepfather Eric Quinn of Killingly, CT; his sister Erika Lerro of Charleston, SC and sister and brother-in-law Sara (Lerro) and Nick Murdock of Woodstock; his paternal grandmother Virginia Lerro of Simsbury, maternal grandparents David and Mabel Ann Chapman of South Windsor; his nephews Landon, Owen, and niece Avery Murdock of Woodstock; and numerous extended family and friends. He also had two dogs, Sydney and Kodak, that he loved and took everywhere he went.
A private memorial service for family will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Devil’s Hopyard State Park in East Haddam, CT. A memorial gathering for family and friends is planned for the spring.

Hunter J. Blake, 11 months old, died at his home in North Troy on August 31, 2010, after a long battle with Krabbe disease. He was surrounded by his loving family. Hunter loved being outside listening to the birds and to music. He loved being held and cuddled. He was born September 18, 2009, in Newport, a beloved son of Meagan Blake and Jeremy Brown. Besides his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Joshua Cloney, of North Troy; his maternal grandmothers, April Blake, of Coventry and Sherri Ingalls of West Glover; by his great-grandmothers Janette Patten of Coventry and Doris Brown of West Charleston; by his uncles Jamie Patten of Nashville, Tennessee, and Justin Blake of Coventry; by his aunt Tonya Brown of North Troy; and by several great-aunts, uncles and cousins and special cousins Samantha and Kayla Wright. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, John F. Blake Jr. Funeral services were held on Saturday September 4, 2010, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home with the Reverend David Lisner officiating.
