2. Obit: Robert Michael Vancko, Ph.D., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle died suddenly at age 70 after a brief illness on April 17, 2013 in Albany, New York.
Bob was born in Johnson City, New York on September 15, 1942, the son of Michael and Mary (Delovich) Vancko. Bob grew up in Lopez and Williamsport, Pennsylvania, enjoying music and playing baseball. He developed a lifelong love of sports and was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers and, of course, Penn State fan. Bob was the first in his family to have the opportunity to attend college. He earned a Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. in mathematics from The Pennsylvania State University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He met the love of his life, Candace, in a music class at Penn State. They were married in the campus chapel and soon after started a family, all while Bob was completing his doctorate.
Bob dedicated thirty years as a math professor at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio where he taught undergraduate and graduate algebra courses and served as Graduate Chair. It was in Athens where he raised his family and developed his love of hiking, music, horticulture, running and all things outdoors. Even with all of his interests, the true light in his life was his family. He was a dedicated husband to Candace and father to their three children Kathy, Rob and Melissa.
In 1999, when Candace was named President of SUNY Delhi, he retired and devoted his time to supporting her career. He was also dedicated to taking retirement seriously, travelling around the world, honing his horticultural and gourmet cooking skills and becoming an avid golfer. In the last years of his life he received great joy from his eight grandchildren and had a special relationship with each of them. His life and dedication to his family are reflected in the faces of his grandchildren. Bob’s dedication to learning is his legacy to future generations.

Living married Michele Lynn Lapensee. Michele was born on 12 Mar 1970 in Worcester Co., MA. She died on 24 Dec 2020 in Phoenix, Maricopa Co., AZ.
1. Daughter of Ed Lapensee and Pam Dodd.
2. Michele (Lapensee) Lisee age 50 Passed away Christmas Eve 12/24/20 at St Joseph’s Hospital after a 2-month fight with Covid-19 and lung transplant complications. She was a native of Worcester Massachusetts and was residing in San Tan Valley Arizona. She graduated from Burncoat High School in Massachusetts. Michele has had a long history of medical issues throughout her short life. The most serious of these was the diagnosis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Hypertension. Because of this she needed a continuous iv infusion and carried a pump around for several years. When it became necessary to start looking at a lung transplant, we discovered the best program was in Phoenix Arizona so we relocated here. I would like to thank all the people who have taken care of Michele for us over the years they have been more than we could have asked for. On top of all the other things Michele was dealing with, when they did the transplant work up it was discovered that Michelle had a very high number of antibodies that would make finding a suitable doner difficult and would increase the chances for rejection issues. Despite this the team at St. Josephs eagerly took on the challenge and was able to get a doner in 3 months. The surgery was difficult and the recovery long but Michele made it through, she always said she would do anything to be able to raise her children. We were warned that after a lung transplant only about 30% of people survive to 5 years. Michele made it more than 7. This is a testament to her determination. Throughout all of this Michele has always put others first. Starting in high school she began working as a nursing assistant with a dream of becoming a nurse. As she started to work towards her goal, she became an emergency medical technician with AMR until due to health issues she had to stop working on the ambulance. So, she did the next best thing and began working in the dispatch center until her health precluded that. After her transplant surgery, despite now being an immuno-compromised patient, she continued to try and finish nursing school. Until again her health made that impossible, she again found where she could still best help people. She tested for and was hired by the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office as an emergency operator. She loved that job and the people she worked with and was very proud of her accomplishments there. In fact, they had just approached her about becoming a trainer for them. Michele was a very genuine, caring, and compassionate soul who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She left an impression on this world that will have a lasting effect. Including the example to her children and others to NEVER GIVE UP. She faced all the adversity in her life with courage and determination and still managed to improve others lives. Some of her favorite things were bag pipes, the songs amazing grace and the dance. She also loved pink and purple flowers, I will think of her whenever I see or hear those things. We could not ask for a better example of how to live than we found in Michele. She was predeceased by our daughter Gabrielle. Survived by her parents Ed and Pam (Dodd) Lapensee, husband Chris, daughter Meaghan, son Corey, son Sheehan, daughter Jordan, step daughters Abi and Ashley, her sisters Heather and Kerry, grandmother Shirley, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also, her childhood friends Gina, Patty, Ellen, and LuAnn. Honestly anyone who ever met Michele became a sort of family and was touched by her. She would give you the shirt off her back if she saw you needed it. This world was better with Michele in it and we will feel her absence always. We will all miss you. Your work here is done, rest easy now we will take it from here. Rest in peace until we meet again. Love your family.

1. Woman Dies In Accident Near Derby
DERBY - A 23-year-old West Charleston resident, Mrs. Audrey Tetreult. was killed Wednesday evening on Vermont 111 when her car went through a barricade at a road construction site and smashed into a piece of highway machinery parked on the highway at 6:55 p.m. She and three passengers were taken by ambulance to the North Country Union Hospital in Newport, according to police, who said Mrs. Tetreault was pronounced dead on arrival. Lucieo Tetreault, 24, her husband, was reported in good condition late Wednesday night by Dr. Frank Fiermonte of Derby, with cuts of his lips and elbow. Their two children, Scott and Angela, also in the hospital, apparently received a cut over the left eye and severe facial cuts, respectively, but no word was given out on their conditions. State police said damage to the highway machinery, being used to install a culvert, was minor. The 1964 convertible was demolished. Sources reported the construction site had been marked by warning signs and flares. (The Burlington Free Press, Oct. 7, 1971, p. 2)

Route 202 crash kills 1, injures 2
Union-News (Springfield, MA) - Saturday, January 28, 1995
A 48-year-old Southampton man was killed and two people were hospitalized yesterday following a head-on car crash on Route 202 near the city reservoirs.
Police said Lucien Tetreault of 51 Whiteloaf Road died at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, from injuries received in the crash.
His wife, Kathy Tetreault, a passenger in the car, was reported in fair condition at Baystate Medical Center last night.
The driver of the second car, Paula Dillon, 30, of 40 Hitchcock St., Holyoke, was listed in critical condition at Baystate Medical Center last night.
The crash was reported at about 2 a.m. The fire department was called in to extinguish a fire in one of the cars.
"We believe weather played a part in the accident," said investigator Patrolman Edward Moskal. "It was snowing at the time."
Patrolman James Rivard said it appeared the Tetrealts' Buick Riviera, westbound on Route 202, was struck head-on by a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Dillon that crossed over the center line.
"We know the car went over the line, but we don't know why," said Rivard.
Rivard, Patrolman Kenneth Moriarty and John Borowski, owner of John's Sunoco Towing, checked the mechanical condition of both cars yesterday afternoon.
The tests included examining the wear in the brakes in an effort to determine how well they would have performed.
"We will take the information and use the measurements to find out what happened," Rivard said.
