2. EAST CHARLESTON
To the memory of Mrs. Fred E. Wilson, who died at Derby March 11, 1909. Rita J. Shedd Wilson was born in Charleston May 17, 1874, the. daughter of Ivory and Candis Goodwin and after the death of her mother was adopted by her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Shedd, where she had her home until her marriage eleven years ago to Fred E. Wilson of Derby, who with two daughters. Edna, aged 8, and Freda, aged 4, mourn the loss of a kind, loving-wife and mother, whose every day was rich in love, sympathy and kindly deeds: she also leaves her father and two brothers and many other relatives to mourn for her. Her illness extended through several years and a brave fight made to regain the lost health by everything that love and medical skill could devise, but of no avail. She has gone to join the little son Kenneth, who passed away on May 1, 1908. Her absence leaves a dreary void in that pleasant home. It would be unavailing to try to count her friends. Truly "none knew her but to love her, none named her but to praise." Were each one to whom our dear friend performed a loving service, to bring one blossom to that snow clad grave on the hill the white mound would be transformed into a bed of bloom.
We miss thee from our hom deare, mother
We miss thee from thy place.
A shadow o'er our life is cast,
We miss the sunshine of thy face.
We miss thy kind and wiling hand
Thy fond and loving care.
Our home is dark without thee,
We miss thee everywhere.

- The second annual re-union of the family of the late Alvy and Jane Walker Tyler, of North Hatley, was held yesterday at Stanstead at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earle Bryan. The beautiful lawn and flower garden made a perfect place for the gathering which numbered 140 people, and of this number only ten were not directly related to the Tyler family. The nine daughters, of whom four are over seventy years of age, were all present and the register showed many great-great-grandchildren. Many cousins who had never seen each other were able to get acquainted and enjoy a pleasant visit. Last year the gathering numbered eighty-five and there are still some who were not able to attend this year, but are hoping for another chance to meet next year. The following places were represented by the guests: Sherbrooke, Lennoxville, North Hatley, East Hatley, Compton, Coaticook, Baldwin’s Mills, Ladd’s Mills, Barnston, Way’s Mills, Stanstead, Concord, Vt., Worcester, Mass., Branchville, N.J., Colebrook, N.H., West Stewartstown, N.H., and Norton, Vt. Lunch was served on the lawn at tables built under the large maple trees and the abundance of food was much enjoyed. After lunch many pictures were taken of the different family groups and several of the nine sisters. The young people then enjoyed games in the large field while the older people had a pleasant hour’s visit with many happy reminiscences of other days. As there were no sons in the family no one was present by the name of Tyler, but the following families were represented: Drew, Morrison, Sampson, McClary, Pope, Trussell, Allen, Bryan, Markwell, Woollerton, Cartwright, Cleveland, Grady, Hall, Mosher, Moore, Leary, Bliss, Wheeler and Skinner. Many expressions of thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Bryan for their kindness in again opening their home for this gathering were voiced by the guests as they departed. DAVIDSON - MORRISON - At Barnston, Que., by Rev. W. Williams, Oct. 19th, A. Lee Davidson to Miss Emma Morrison. (THe Herald, Oct. 29, 1899, p. 2)

6. Sarah's first marriage to Albert Lee Davidson ended about 1905-1907. It seems that Albert wanted to move west to Alberta and presumably she did not want to follow. In 1905 he went west and worked as a cowboy on the Carby & Knight ranch. In Nov. of 1905 he filed for a homestead on the SW 32-39-12. Then he went back to Quebec for the winter and brought out a railcar of supplies. He put lumber in the bottom of the car, loaded equipment and horses and cattle. He had to freight his supplies from Stettler and ford the Battle River. His father Joe Davidson and his brother Ralph followed in 1907 and filed on the south quarters of 6-40-12 bringing more supplies. They were able to come to Sedgewick but waited three days in Daysland for the rail to be finished. In Sedgewick they had to unload their car. Ed Davidson, who worked for the railway and later worked in Alliance, told them just to pile their belongings on the ground and they would be perfectly safe. They were and it took several trips with teams of horses to get it all moved to the homestead. Joe Davidson stayed long enough to prove up on his homestead and then gave the quarter to his sons and returned to Quebec. (Joyce)

Mrs Bliss in her wheelchair up the street to the Bishop home where she was warmly welcomed and entertained by Mrs. Lloyd Bishop, Marlene and Heather, then taken back home Mrs. Bliss is mostly confined to her home although sometimes she goes for a drive with Lloyd into the country. 1. Daughter of Benjamin Franklin Kezar and Emma Florence Clark.
- LATE B. F. KEZAR
Benjamin Franklin Kezar died at his home in East Stanstead at 1. p.m., Friday, March 11th. He was a victim of a stomach difficulty which seemed to baffle the skill of the best physicians. for ten years upon occasions he had been subject to more or less severe attacks of this kind. The week before his death he was attacked by the old enemy, but rallied at the end of the week, and on Sunday, March 6th, was at his accustomed place in church. The following Tuesday night he was again taken violently ill, and, although physicians were summoned and everything that promised relief was done, the hopelessness of the case became evident in short time. Realizing his impending fate, deceased signified his willingness to go, and his last message to those nearest and dearest to him was the expressed wish that they should do all the good they could in this world. Deceased was a son of the late Josiah Kezar, and was born in Barnston township, October 4th, 1855. Having a natural bent for building, he went to Mabchester, N.H., when a young man, and there took a special course of studies in architectural drawing and building. this business he followed throughout the remainder of his life, and he leaves a large number of monuments of this kind - churches, public buildings, dwellings, as well as less imposing structures - by which he will long be remembered. After returning from New England Mr. Kezar married Emma Florence Clark (a daughter of the late Galusha W. Clark of Stanstead) who died Nov. 9th, 1901. Deceased leaves one son, Harold W. Kezar of Tice, Vt., three daughters, Blanche, now Mrs. F. W. Lawton, of Cassville, Misses Bessie and Annie Kezar, who reside at the old home. He also leaves one brother, Mr. Charles Kezar, of South Barnston. The funeral took place on Sunday at the A. C. Church, South Barnston, Elder Charles McClure, of West Derby officiating. Deceased was a member of Golden Rule Lodge No. 5, A.F.&A.M., and a large delegation from that Lodge was present at and took part in the service, under Masonic ritual. The bearers were: Bros. C. E. Lee, W. E. Hammond, W. S. Davis and Clarence Aldrich. The church was crowded to overflowing and the service was impressive throughout. The interment was at Crystal Lake Cemtery.
