Phil was proud to lead a “simple” life in the Green Mountains of Vermont, but many would replace the word “simple” with significant. His love for life carried us through the hard times and made the good times even better. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His devotion to family was evident in the unconditional love and encouragement he gave to the people for whom he cared deeply. Whether it was “never missing a game” or learning to appreciate the arts with his wife, his unassuming selflessness will continue to inspire all that knew him well to appreciate the small things and take time for the important moments.
Phil was also a long term dedicated member of the TD Bank staff. He took pride in his work and leaves behind many friends in the banking community. Phil’s personality was larger than life, but his all-encompassing sincerity made the people around him feel comfortable, cared for, and important. Phil was a volunteer who was eager to serve, whether playing Santa Claus at the mall or participating with his daughter in the annual “Green-Up Day”. Phil was an active volunteer for the United Way for many years and his leadership by example motivated others to do the same.
Phil’s love for history was made contagious by his flair for storytelling. He was a role model for his daughter who became a high school social studies teacher and coach. He prided himself on creating a welcoming, warm home where his family and friends enjoyed meaningful moments and lots of laughter. Phil will leave a lasting impact on the many lives which were touched by his generosity of spirit. GO GIANTS!
