Burrows, 66, of Michigan Road in Jaffrey, NH, died peacefully December 13, 2011 at the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, with his wife, Rachel (Betty), and family by his side following a period of failing health. Tom was born on September 10, 1945 in Keene, NH, son of the late Delpha (Cripps) and Walter F. Burrows. He grew up in Bennington, NH. Tom received his GED at age 50 showing his daughters the importance of education and the role it played in his employment. Tom had been employed briefly at Suprenaut Wire and Cable before working at New Hampshire Ball Bearing in Peterborough where he retired after more than 25 years of service. Tom was predeceased by both of his daughters, Josephine M. Covey on August 3, 2000, and Megan E. Burrows on March 30, 2009, and by his brother, Allen Burrows. Tom is survived by his loving wife of over 38 years, Rachel (Betty) Labbe Burrows of Jaffrey, NH; his grandson, Thomas John Covey and son-in-law, John N. Covey Jr. of Hancock, NH; his 2 sisters, Pauline and her husband James Wood of Jaffrey, NH and Largo, Fla., and Frances and her husband William Shackett of Croydon, N.H; his 2 brothers, David C. Lisbon, N.H. — Pastor Russell Wing, “Russ”, 62, of Lisbon, N.H. died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday afternoon, May 29, 2014.
Russ was born on October 31, 1951, in Quebec, Canada to Stanley and the late Alfreda (Sims) Wing.
Russ grew up in East Thetford, Vt., working in his parents’ grocery store, Wing’s Market. Russ graduated from Thetford Academy in 1969, with an Associates degree in Business Management from Northampton Junior College in Northampton, Mass. in 1971, and with a Bachelor of Religious Eduction degree from Practical Bible College in Johnson City, N.Y. in 1999.
On Jan. 16, 1971 he was married to Rebecca Cramer of Fairlee, Vt.
Russ was the Pastor of Lisbon Bible Church in Lisbon, N.H. and maintained many ministries of helping others outside of the Pastorate. He loved people and enjoyed working with his hands, gardening, hunting, welding, inventing, and above all, growing in his personal relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rebecca Cramer Wing; four children: Molly Higham and husband Kevin of Sandown, N.H., Carrie Arquette and husband Scott of Windsor, N.Y., Brandon Wing and wife Rachel of Raymond, N.H., and Trudy McCarthy and husband Neal of Raymond, N.H., thirteen grandchildren, his father Stanley Wing and wife Florence, of Naples, Fla., his father and mother-in-law, Joe and Jane Cramer of Fairlee, Vt., two sisters, Mary Davenport and husband Don, of Fairlee, Vt. and Nancy Wing, of West Newbury, Vt., several brothers and sisters-in-law, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and a loving church family.

Shirley Arlene Hovey, well known among the younger set in this place, was married Tuesday morning to Charles Bingham Smith, popular Craftsbury young man. The ceremony took place in the rectory of the United Church in Johnson, the Rev. A. Ritchie Low, minister of the parish, officiating, using the double ring ceremony. They wore accompanied by Mrs. Nestor Morin of Hardwick and the groom's Brother, Warren A. Smith of Craftsbury. Mrs. Smith was graduated from Hardwirk Academy in the class of 1910 and also graduated from a School of Beauty Culture in Manchester, N. H. She has been employed in Aliena's Beauty Shop in this place. Mr. Smith will resume his studies at the University of Vermont, in January, after having served a year and a half in the European theater of war. HARDWICK - Shirley Arlene "Peggy" Smith, 84, of Hardwick, died peacefully at her residence on Saturday, June 9, 2007, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born January 15, 1923, in Danville, the daughter of the late Gordon and Flora (Clark) Hovey. She graduated from Hardwick Academy in the class of 1941 and continued her education at a school of cosmetology in Manchester, N.H.
On Dec. 11, 1945, she married Charles Bingham "Charlie" Smith Jr. in Johnson.
In her earlier years, she worked in several beauty shops as well as operating a business in her home in Hardwick. She later stayed at home to care for her young children.
Peggy was a member of the United Church of Hardwick and Circle #8 of that church. She was also a life member of the American Legion Post #7 Auxiliary in Hardwick and V.F.W. Post #9653 Auxiliary in Morrisville. For many years she enjoyed playing the piano with a local band known as the "Esquires." She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and listening to her great-grandchildren play the piano. Other enjoyments include knitting, watching old movies and riding in the car along the Vermont country roads.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Charlie; a daughter, Sharyn Salls of Hardwick; two sons, C. Stephen Smith of Barre and Scott J. Smith, of Hardwick; six grandchildren; two great-grand-daughters; as well as several extended family members.
She was predeceased by a granddaughter in 1986.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening 6 to 9 p.m. at the Northern Vermont Funeral Home, 60 Elm St., Hardwick.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the United Church in Hardwick with the Rev. Judy Waible officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in the Fairview Cemetery in Hardwick.

Charles Bingham "Charlie" Smith Jr., 96, of Hardwick, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. He was born Dec. 11, 1918 in Craftsbury, the son of the late Charles B. Smith Sr. and Alice (Lane) Smith. He graduated from Craftsbury Academy in the class of 1937. He entered Vermont Junior College graduating in the class of 1940, and continued his education at the University of Vermont. On Sept. 6, 1941, he entered the U.S. Army in Rutland. He received his training at Fort Knox, Ky., Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Camp Young in California. He served his country in the battles of Normandy in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe under General George C. Patten. He served with distinction and received the European African Middle-Eastern Campaign Ribbon, American Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal and Good Conduct Medal for his efforts. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 19, 1945 as a member of the Greatest Generation. On Dec. 11, 1945 he married Shirley Arlene "Peggy" Hovey in Johnson. He was employed at Fairbanks Scales in St. Johnsbury. He retired on Dec. 31, 1981. Charlie was a member of the United Church of Craftsbury and an associate member of the United Church in Hardwick. He joined Meridian Sun Lodge # 20, F & AM in Craftsbury in 1943. In 1984 he was elected Secretary and continued to serve in that position for more than 26 years. He was a 50 year member of the American Legion Post # 7 in Hardwick and the V.F.W. Post # 9653 in Morrisville. He was an avid sportsman. He played high school, college and semi-pro baseball. He excelled in many other sports including cross-country, down -hill and slalom skiing, basketball, cross country running, golfing and bowling. He also enjoyed hunting and ice-fishing. Charlie has continued to support area high school athletics and was always interested in how the teams were doing. He took great pride in attending his grandchildren's ball games. He enjoyed visiting and spending time with everyone. He will be sadly missed by the Hardwick community. Survivors include three children: Sharyn Salls and her husband, Raymond, of Hardwick, C. Stephen Smith and his wife, Sarah, of Barre, Scott Smith and his wife, Tammi, of Hardwick; 6 grandchildren, Shelley Hale of E. 1. Paul J. Swift, 74, of Chandler Road died Monday at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. Born in Greenfield, Mass., on Jan. 30, 1924, he was the son of Harry and Elva (Randall) Swift. He attended Hardwick schools. Mr. Swift served in the US Army in the Asiatic Theater during World War II and in Korea. He was awarded several Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart and other medals and ribbons during his military service. On Feb. 2, 1957, he married Brenda Wheeler in Hardwick. Mr. Swift farmed in Hardwick and in Connecticut and lived in Riverton for more than 25 yeas. He worked for Northfield Wood Products for 11 years and retired in 1985. Since retirement he and his wife owned and operated a home business Brenda’s SWIFT Lawn Figurines. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Brenda of Riverton, a son, Paul Jay Swift of Montpelier, two daughters, Sally Matison of Riverton and Lori Vilbrin of Waterbury Center, two grandchildren, step-sister Bobbie Rehorka of Amherst, Mass., nieces and nephews. She is survived by three children, Paul Jay Swift of West Berlin, Lori Ashley of Waterbury Center, Sally Matison of West Berlin; and two granddaughters.
In keeping with her wishes there are no calling hours and private services are being planned for a later date.

1. Barbara Mae Rockwell Rehorka passed away peacefully on May 29, 2019 with her beloved husband of 62 years, Frank Rehorka by her side. She was 88. Barbara (Bobby) was a loving wife, a devoted mother and the best grandmother. In her younger years Barbara worked at Sears Roebuck as an accountant and later as an Assistant Librarian at the Crocker Farm Elementary School in Amherst. Barbara loved spending her time outdoors at the family farm in Shutesbury where family Sunday dinners were a favorite tradition. Once her grandchildren came along she spent many hours caring for them and creating a lifetime of memories.
Barbara is survived by her best friend and husband, Frank Rehorka, their son Gary Rehorka and his wife Rachel Schwab and grandson, Benjamin of Shutesbury, as well as their son David Rehorka and his wife Michelle, grandson Devon and granddaughter Kelly of Montague.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM, Wednesday, June 5th at the Douglass Funeral Home, 87 N. Pleasant St. Amherst. Burial will be private and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.

- SHUTESBURY -- Frank Rehorka, 86, of Cooleyville Road died Wednesday in his home. A native of what is now Czechoslovakia, he moved to New York City in 1910 and to Amherst in 1932 where he was a shoemaker until 1961 when he moved to Shutesbury. Besides his wife, the former Barbara Houska. He leaves a son, frank G. of Amherst and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Renak of Long Island City, New York. The funeral will be Saturday at Douglass funeral home, Amherst. Burial will be in West Cemetery. (May 1972)- Barbara (Houska) Rehorka, 95, of Cooleyville Road, died Tuesday at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton. She was employed by the former Easthampton Advertiser until her retirement in 1966. Born in Czechoslovakia, she was the holder of the Golden Cane in Shutesbury, representing the town's oldest resident. She was a member of the Golden Agers. Her husband, Frank Rehorka died in 1972. She leaves a son, Frank G. of Amherst; two grandsons, Gary and David Rehorka, and twin great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be Friday afternoon in West Cemetery. 2. Obit: Frank G. Rehorka, "Bumpa," beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, age 90, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020. He was born in New York City and spent many happy childhood years at his wonderful family farm in Shutesbury, MA before living in Amherst for most of his life. He proudly served his country in the National Guard at the end of the Korean War. He loved fishing the Swift River, the Quabbin, and many other rivers and ponds. He worked at Florence Tool and Die and later at Wilderness Mold where he was an exceptional machinist up until his retirement. Frank was described by many people as a one-of-a-kind man. He was kind and generous, and had a loving old soul. He had the highest integrity, and was a person who always had your back. Frank was a deep listener for anyone who needed his support. He knew how to fix just about anything, and he passed that talent and along to his sons. Frank was humble, loyal, and had an intense work ethic. Along with his loving wife Barbara, the two spent many years taking care of their grandchildren while their parents worked. Prior to Barbara's passing in May 2019, the couple was inseparable. They loved taking day trips with family and friends and nothing made Frank happier than being with his family. He was a diehard Patriots fan, never wanting to miss a game. "Bumpa" will be very deeply missed by his family. Frank leaves behind two sons, Gary Rehorka and his wife, Rachel Schwab Rehorka and their son, Benjamin of Shutesbury and David Rehorka and his wife, Michelle Rehorka, and their twin children, Devon and Kelly of Montague. Due to Covid-19, there will be a private burial service for both Frank and Barbara. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association.
