You will be able to meet her on Saturday April 17 between 17:00 and 19:00 right before the show at the Bïa Art Center of Richmond. On this occasion, everyone is invited and a reception will be be served. For Mrs. G. Mongeau, painting is a love story which must cause the spectator as much as the artist, her real emotions. She says to us: “The love and the passion that each painting brings is an adventure. My sources of inspirations appear by chance, with complete freedom, or the photograph is a landmark. For me, to paint flowers is a pretext to create, compose and to play with the color on a fabric, I remove some and I give from there with a freedom of gesture. The fabric is a dialogue of colours, with key colors in juxtaposition or superposition. Here the bud of a flower which did not open, little by little opens up while groping from one to another. I give attention to the harmony, balance, with relations between the colors, in addition to what the canvas dictates to me. My understanding of the light is to make it circulate the table. That doubts and questions of time, meeting after meeting, in order to find the key emotion by an intuitive process in search of finding satisfaction. For her, the canvas becomes a mirror, an interior image, a pleasure, a happiness. The invitation is extended. Visit the exhibition of Gaucher Alyette Mongeau, floral painter with the gallery Current Art of Richmond from April 17 until the end of June. The opening hours of the exhibition are Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays between 13:00 and 19:00 or by appointment! [translated] (Lanouvelle.net, Apr. 8, 2010)
