Bonita Springs, FLA. - Lyle Eugene Stewart, 78, Bonita Springs, Florida, died November 20, 1998, at his home. He was born September 12, 1920 to Oliver Eugene Stewart and Stella Cox Stewart in Burchard. Lyle attended school in Burchard and graduated with the class of 1937. He was a World War II veteran. Lyle moved with his parents to Rockford IL., where he met and married his wife, Maxine. They lived in Rockford and Elgin, IL., where their family of three boys and five girls grew up.
Lyle worked construction for many years and after their move to Bonita Springs, he helped build the Anchor Christian Church, where they were members. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Eleanor Stewart. Survivors are his wife, Maxine of Bonita Springs; three sons, Mark of San Francisco, Jeff of Portland, Ore., and Neal of Raleigh, N.C.; five daughters, Rebecca Stewart of Portland. Vickie Raymor, Kristal Mading, Sally Lawson, and Lisa Evans, all of the area; several grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and cousins, Maude Sejkora of Burchard and Audrey Wehrbein of the Pawnee Village. LYLE EUGENE STEWART Lyle Eugene Stewart, 78, died Friday, November 20, 1998. Born September 12, 1920, Lyle spent his childhood in Burchard, NE. He moved to Illinois and raised his family in Rockford and Elgin. Lyle served his country in WWII in the Army. A general contractor and member of the carpenters' union, Lyle retired to Bonita Springs in 1973. He was a charter member of Anchor Christian Church and helped build the building. Above all, Mr. Stewart's greatest accomplishment is the fact that he was a great Christian husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all of his loved ones. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Eugene and Stella Cox Stewart;' his sister, Margaret Eleanor Stewart; and great-grandson, Matthew Harrison Germain. (News-Press, Ft. Maxine M. Huddleston Stewart, 90, of Bonita Springs, died Sunday, September 18, 2011. Formerly of Elgin, IL, she had been a Bonita resident since 1974. She was born October 15, 1920 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of Frank and Inez Jane (née Conkey) Huddleston. In addition to raising her family, she sold Avon products for over 50 years and was a founding member of Anchor Christian Church in Bonita Springs.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by her loving children, Mark E. Stewart of San Francisco, CA, Rebecca E. Stewart of Portland, OR, Jeff I. Stewart of Portland, OR, Vicki E. (Gary) Raymor of Naples, FL, Kristal I. Mading of Bonita Springs, FL, Sally A. Lawson of Estero, FL, Neal G. Stewart of Bonita Springs, FL and Lisa H. (John) Evans of Bonita Springs, FL; her siblings, Betty (Jim) McConaughey of Rockford, IL, Jack Huddleston of Rockford, IL and Carol (Albert) Steiner of Evanston, IL; sixteen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.

Born May, 11, 1927, he was raised in Pawnee City, Neb., and was the son of the late James E. Sr. and Jesse C. Cook. He was predeceased by two sons, James E. III and Kevin J. Cook and a daughter, Suzanne J. Cook. Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He later retired from Plasser American in 1993, where he was an Electrical Engineer. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 288 and the Forester Lodge. Jim will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband who was a hardworking man.
Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Eileen M. Cook; five children, Douglas J. Cook, Veronica J. Perez, Donald K. Masingo Jr., Rodney H. Masingo and Robert P. Masingo; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Chalmer and Jack Cook; two sisters, Barbara Jackson and Marcella Barnes.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2008 in Moyock Memorial Cemetery.

- MANCHESTER - Robert Joseph Dery, 97, of Manchester, died Sept. 21, 2014, in his home. He was born July 24, 1917, to Herve and Marguerite (Dubord) Dery.
He worked at Amoskeag and Jefferson Mills where he met his sweetheart, Desneiges Martel. He also was employed at AJ Houle Beauty Supply, then from 1957 to 1984 he drove a newspaper delivery truck under contract to The Union Leader. He drove his route up 93 to Littleton, and covered thousands of miles on the road. He then worked part time in the mailroom until fully devoting his time to caring for his wife.
Robert and Desneiges married in 1939 and celebrated 73 years together. Bob and Dee loved to travel, visiting friends and family across the United States and Canada. The couple took care of 23 foster children for the Children's Aid Society from 1956 to 1966. Bob loved to whistle a tune or play his harmonica. He wasn't shy to get on the dance floor and dressed with style. His family and friends will always remember his playful humor and spunk. He always appreciated a good prank and loved to laugh.
He was a member of the League of a Thousand Men and a lifelong parishioner at Ste. Marie Parish and Our Lady of Mercy.
Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife Desneiges M. Dery, his daughter Ann Brimhall of Florida, his son in-law, Paul R. Lacroix who died Sept. 17, 2014, two sisters and four brothers.

Desneiges married in 1939 and is survived by her beloved husband of 74 years, Robert J. Dery. From 1956 to 1966, the couple took care of 23 foster children for the Children's Aid Society. Dee and Bob loved to travel together, visiting family and friends across the US and Canada. Dee was a lover of plays and musicals (especially romance), dancing, gardening, cooking, and nurturing her family. Her smile and spirit will be deeply missed by all.
She was predeceased by three brothers, six sisters, and one godson. Senior Petty Officer Lyle E. Cox (ret.), former Navy recruiter here, has been awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for his services in Vietnam. Chief Cox, who retired after 22 years in the Navy, lives in Xenia and is employed as a salesman at Lang's Chevrolet, was cited "for professional acheivement while serving with friendly foreign forces ... in Vietnem from March, 1968, to November 1969." His citation says Cox "repeatedly displayed the leadership, initiative and perserverance necessary to sucessfully accomplish a multitude of complicated and vital tasks. His untiring efforts, under frequently difficult combat conditions, were instrumental in the effective performance of vital combat support missions. Throughout his tour, Senior Chief Cox performed his duties under the imminent threat of enemy terrorist squads and mainline units and was subjected to numerous rocket and mortar attacks. His performance was in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service." Cox was leading chief of the Navy air support unit at Chu lai, chief petty officer in charge of the advance tactical support base at Tra Cu and administrative chief of the supply department of the Naval support facility at Cam Ranh Bay. Lyle Cox, 76, passed away March 10, 2007.
He was born Aug. 12, 1930, in Pasadena, Calif. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1947. During his military career, he served during the Korean War and completed back-to-back tours of combat in Vietnam. He served as an aviation store keeper on the USS Bennington. He also served as the first golf course club manager at Pinehurst Naval Air Station. He completed five years as a member of the Naval Intelligence Service. He completed four years as a Navy recruiter in Xenia.
As a Navy recruiter, he enlisted his oldest son, Richard M. Cox, another Vietnam veteran, who resides in Summerville, S.C. He also was the father of Stewart J. Cox (wife, Gae C.) and Rebecca Lynne Boerstler (husband, Michael, and daughter, Chelsea), both residents of Thornville. As a military careerist, Lyle learned the importance of reining younger members under his command. As in life, Lyle has donated his body to the Wright State Medical School for future doctors to perfect their healing.
He is survived by his three children and six grandchildren, Tech. Sgt. Rory Cox (wife, Maria), Jody L. Cox (wife, Brandy), Scott K. Noggle (wife, Melissa, and daughter, Kaylee) Sara L. He married Renae Reiland in February of 1977, and worked at General Motors as a skilled tradesman until his retirement. A member of the Capitol Area Harley Owners Group as well as Mid-Michigan Model A Club, Steve enjoyed everything about motorcycles and cars, especially trips to find all the best ice cream shops. A loyal and kind man, Steve was a good friend to many. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, tractors, collecting guns, and of course shooting so he could truly enjoy his collection.
Steve is survived by his wife, Renae Stewart; daughter, Stephanie (Andrew) Philo; grandson, Dominic Philo; brother, Dan (Adrienne) Stewart; sister-in-law, Rebecca Reiland; and many extended family members. Shortly after coming here, he was employed by Central Illinois Gas and Electric company, remaining in its employ until taken ill. "MARY LOU" Of Dexter, Michigan, age 77, passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 23, 2014. She was born on February 14, 1937, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Francis and Mary (Brackett) Gaspari. On August 3, 1957, she married Max E. Stewart in Rockford, IL, and he survives. Mary had lived in the area for the past 14 years, coming from Farmington Hills, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dexter. She had worked as a special education basic classroom para-educator servicing children with significant needs. In high school she was a basketball champion and had the nickname "Meadowlark Lemon." Her hobbies included reading, golf, and bowling. She made sure to say her prayers every night and she loved her family and grandchildren. Also surviving are three children: Laura (Paul) Ledwidge, Cheri (Brian) Luallen, all of Pinckney, and Bill Stewart (and significant other Joanne Sandler) of West Bloomfield, and four grandsons: Jeremiah (JP), Patrick, Josef (Joe), and Emanuel (Manny). She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Gaspari. Larry D. Stewart, 82, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born April 12, 1934, in Burchard, NE; the son of Joseph and Daisie M. (Cox) Stewart. Larry was a graduate of West High School class of 1952. He married Mary Jean Furman on June 25, 1955, in Rockford. Larry served on the United States National Guard for 3 years, and was employed with Rockford Fire Department for 27 years where he served as Lieutenant. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW Club and Westminster Church. He was a loving husband and the best dad in the world. Jude and Nick, together again. Leone "Jude" Nicoletti passed away peacefully on July 9, 2013, after a lengthy illness. Jude began her life in Pawnee, Neb. in 1923. On Aug. 19, 1944, she married the love of her life Vincent P. "Nick" Nicoletti during the war. They eventually made their way to the west coast. They were married for 64 years. When she was 10 years old, she started volunteering for the American Red Cross, which eventually led to a full-time career. She was a Coordinating Director for disaster relief efforts. She retired from this career after 53 years of service. She was involved in the following organizations: Broadmoor Women's Club, member of the National Democratic Committee, NSDAR Member, FEMA volunteer, Arrow Club member and Albertina Kerr Center volunteer and board member. She and Vince were active parishioners at St. Philip Neri. She volunteered for many committees and sat on several boards at church. She was a bridge aficionado. She started playing bridge with her parents at the age of 10 years old and had belonged to several bridge groups. She was affectionately known as Jude, Judy and First Lady. She enjoyed her family: her two sons, Bob (Susan) and David; her seven grandchildren, Darcy, Paige, Scot, Brandon, Chris, Elisa and Jenna; her four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Pat Johnson of Kirkland, Wash. Vince was District Sales Mgr for the CRI&P(Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad) from the early 1950’s to about 1980 when he retired. He remained active in FEMA’s disaster services following retirement.
Vince and Leone Ruth were married for 64 happy and loving years. Vince was an active member of the TCOP,(Trans Club of Portland) for 30 years and Club Treasurer for about 10 years.. Vince was a very popular guy with all Club members, always personable and maintained a pleasant personality.

4. Court Reporter Gains Honors
Florence LaMar, Multnomah County Circuit Court reporter, this week became the only woman reporter in Oregon to acheive national recognition for proficiency in courtroom stenography. Miss LaMar took six tests during the August convention here of the National Shorthand Reporters Association for speed, accuracy and knowledge of courtroom dictation. A number of persons passed the proficiency battery of tests, but Miss LaMar was the only one also to pass the merit battery. She is the third person in Oregon to achieve the honor. Using a stenograph machine, the Multnomah County reporter took dictation at speeds up to 260 words a minute with better than 95 per cent accuracy. (Oregonian, Sept. 21, 1962, p. 43)5. Goodale, Florence Lamar 91 Nov. 21, 1919 Aug. 27, 2011 Florence was born in California and died in Scappoose. She lived her entire life in the Portland-Beaverton area. She attended the University of Washington. She worked many years as a Court Reporter for Multnomah County Circuit Court judges, receiving national honor for her ability.
