ORANGE — Philip E. Barker, 73, formerly of Orange, died Tuesday at Clearwater, Fla., where he had lived the past 11 years. He was formerly assistant treasurer of the Pneumatic Scale Corporation at Quincy and had lived in Weymouth previous to retirement. He was born in Orange, March 22, 1896, the son of Clarence E. and Charlotte (Bowker) Barker. He attended Orange schools and was a graduate of Orange High School. Previous to moving to Weymouth several years ago he had been employed at the New Home Sewing Machine Co. here. He leaves his widow, Marie L. Barker; a daughter, Mrs. Jane M. Lesh of Glendora, Calif., and three grandchildren. Funeral services were this morning at Clearwater and there will be a graveside cpmmittal service, Saturday at 2 p.m. at Central Cemetery, Orange. PEABODY, Mass. -- Adelaide H. (Huse) Ladd, 87, of Peabody, Mass., and formerly of Maine, died June 29, 2013, at the Salem Hospital. She was the wife of the late William Ladd with whom she shared 50 years of marriage until his death in 2005. She was born in North Salem, N.H., on Feb. 18, 1926, the daughter of the late Oscar and Marion (Colpitts) Huse, and had resided there and in Maine for many years before moving to Peabody.

Adelaide loved her independence, going to Maine, the autumn colors, listening to the cardinal birds and playing golf. She had been very active with the Purple Dress and Red Hat Society and also the Peabody Historical Society. She will be deeply missed by all. While in Maine, she worked as a secretary for the Kennebec Journal newspaper.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Candice and Robert McCulloch, of Woburn, Mass., a son, William E. Ladd, of Gastonia, N.C., a sister, Frances Boothby, of Westbrook, Maine, a grandson, Nathan McCulloch, of Woburn, a granddaughter, Michelle, and a great-granddaughter, MacKenzie, many nieces and nephews and several longtime friends.

Martha Ladd. 48. of Flint, Michigan, died in the McLeren General hospital in Flint, last Friday. Funeral servicee were held in the Reigle Funeral Home in Flint at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. She was the daughter of Carl and Lena Baumann, and lived in Angola for about 12 years. She is survived by a son, William, and a sister, Mrs. Henke, in Pennsylvania. 2. Obit: Norine Ladd, age 81 of Grand Blanc, formerly Livonia and Flint, passed away December 10, 2015. Her family will be holding a celebration of her life with family and close friends at Mama Mia's restaurant on Plymouth road in Livonia, January 3, 2016 at 12:00 p.m.
Norine was born April 2,1934 in Flint, Michigan to her proud parents, Cecil and Nellie Paxton. She was one of eight children. Norine was married to William Ladd, her true love and best friend on March 23, 1953. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2006. She is survived by her son Ken and daughter Nancy, her grandchildren, Andy, Heather, Kyle and Brianna. Norine also had great-grandchildren, Mason, Bella, Taylor, Logan and Zoe.
Norine worked as a typist, and then began selling Avon which turned into a very successful career as an Avon manager. She won many awards and global trips! To the day of her death, Norine continued to wear makeup and jewelry. The Avon company would be so proud.
Norine was a very loving a giving person who touched all of our lives in special ways. She was an inspiration to all of us and was an amazingly talented artist. She worked in oil paints, watercolors, drawing, wood burning, sewing, quilting and her all time favorite, knitting! Norine made gifts for all of us but also spent countless hours making knitted hats and cloth dolls for children in need. In later years, Norine suffered some health problems but still persevered in her art and helping others. She never lost her smile. We all have many, many memories to keep us going.

HINGHAM - Mary S. (Connelly) Nash-Bowie, 92, a longtime resident of Hingham, died at South Shore Hospital yesterday. She was born in Nova Scotia and lived in Hingham for 72 years. She was a charter member of the Hingham Golden-Agers, a member of the Hingham Grange and the Women's Sodality at St. Paul's Church. She was the wife of the late Wiliam A. Bowie and is survived by four daughters, Alice E. Ladd of Braintree, Mary N. Hoy of Mashpee, Lois K. Finley of Hingham, and Jean F. Maguire of Dennisport; a son, John W. Nash of Braintree; two sisters, Mildred Tanguy of Braintree and Margaret Chisolm of Canada; a sister-in-law, Frances Ross of Braintree; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Church, Hingham. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Visiting hours have been omitted. (Dec. 1982)

Mrs. Ladd was a bookkeeper for Stetson Shoe Co. of Weymouth, Roberts Engraving Co. of North Quincy, Royal Label Co. of Dorchetser and Suburban Disposal Co. of Abington until her retirement in 1984. She previously was a clerical worker for Prestigious Boston Stationer and Harper W. Poulson Co. Mrs. Ladd was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth. She was born in Hingham and was a 1928 graduate of Hingham High School. Wife of the late John S. Ladd, she is survived by two daughters, Eleanor Tyree of New Hampshire and Marilyn Poirier of Rockland; two half-sisters, Lois (Bowie) Einley of Hingham and Jean (Bowie) McGuire of Dennisport; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at C.C. Sheperd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St., South Weymouth, by the Rev. Brian McHugh of Sacred Heart Church. 1. Obit: Eleanor Kathleen Ladd Tyree, 76, died December 7, 2020 at St Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, NH. She was born on January 10, 1944 in Milton, Massachusetts, the daughter of Alice Nash Ladd and John Ladd.
Ellie was the devoted wife of Paul Tyree. They were married on Easter Sunday March 29, 1964 at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Weymouth, Massachusetts.
Ellie graduated from Braintree High School in 1961 and was noted for the ability to say very little and accomplish very much. She worked as a bank teller before taking on the task of raising three children: Curtis, Lisa and Kevin. She was an “Avon Lady” for many years. Ellie was active in several churches, especially Church of the Good Shepherd in Nashua, New Hampshire as a long-time member and a Daughter of the Church.
After the children were grown, she found a second career in the Pharmacy Department of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua. She enjoyed spending time with seven grandchildren and extended families. Ellie enjoyed bowling and watching many sports but none more than NASCAR. She and Paul attended races all over the East Coast.
Ellie is predeceased by her beloved husband Paul who died in November 2019.
She is survived by her three children Curtis, Lisa, and Kevin together with their spouses Mary, Clint, and Amy. Ellie was blessed with grandchildren Nathan, Mitchell, Kayleigh, Zachery, Jacob, Christopher, and Thomas, plus one great grandchild Julianna. She is survived by her wonderful sister Marilyn, her husband Al, and two nephews Greg and Steve. She loved her aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Nash and Bowie families.
Ellie thanks Visiting Angels and is especially grateful to live her final years at the house on Bailey Street with Kevin, Amy, and the grandchildren. She said it kept her young.

        Eleanor married Paul Michael Tyree on 29 Mar 1964 in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., MA. Paul was born on 4 Aug 1942 in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., MA. He died on 18 Nov 2019 in Haverhill, Essex Co., MA. He was buried in Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua, Hillsborough Co., NH.

2. Obit: The Honorable Paul Michael Tyree, 77, died Monday, November 18th, 2019 at High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA. He was born on August 4, 1942 in Weymouth, MA, the son of Thelma Louise and Charles Tyree.
He was the devoted husband of Eleanor. They were married on Easter Sunday, March 29, 1964 at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Weymouth, MA.
Paul attended Northeastern University and received a Masters Certificate in Industrial Management from AAIM (Brandeis University). He worked as a radiation technician on and was aboard the maiden voyage of the USS Long Beach, the first nuclear powered surface warship. Paul was a founding principal of Baird Atomic in 1962 and of Radiation Materials Corporation in 1968, both in the nuclear medicine field. He moved to New England Nuclear (NEN, now DuPont) when they acquired Radiation Materials in 1971. After 14 years at NEN, he started two small businesses in Nashua, NH before a successful 18 year career as a radiation safety officer for the global firm CIS Bio International. He was a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the American Nuclear Society.
Paul was elected as a New Hampshire State Representative and served on the Committee on Science, Technology and Energy 1989-1990.
He served his community as a member of the Jaycees and was a long time committee member and merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 250. He was a Boy Scout as well who received the God and Country Medal. Paul enjoyed camping and travel, especially educating his children through visiting historical sites and national parks.
Paul is predeceased by his brother David of San Francisco.
He is survived by his dear wife Ellie, his three children Curtis, Lisa, and Kevin and their spouses Mary, Clint, and Amy. Paul was blessed with grandchildren Nathan, Mitchell, Kayleigh, Zachery, Jacob, Christopher, and Thomas, plus one great grandchild Julianna. Paul was fortunate to live with Ellie, Kevin, Amy, and their children during his final years.
He is survived by his brothers Orrin and Arthur, his sister Nena, and many nephews.
SERVICES: Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Friday, November 22, 2019 at Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 214 Main St., Nashua, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend. HOULTON, May 23, Arlie L. Downie 57, died Sunday in Portland. , He was born in Houlton, the son of Manser and Adeline (Dumas) Downie and was a former resident of Houlton. He is survived by his son Phllip of Hartford. Conn, three daughters, Mrs. Edward Scott of Weymouth, Mass, Mrs. David Roberts of Boston, Mass, and Mrs. John Ladd of New York city, three brothers, Arthur of Boston, Leo of Houlton. Oden of Chester, Pa, two sisters, Mrs. John McDougall of New York city, Mrs. Francis Burns of Houlton, and eight grandchildren. The remains are at the home of his sister, Mrs. Francis Burns, 16 Hogan street. Funeral services will be held from St. Mary's church Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. The Rev. FORT FAIRFIELD and DOVER NH Mrs Elizabeth "Betty" (Fisher) Downie, 93, died Oct 14 1994 at the Riverside Rest Home of Dover NH after a long illness. She was born Feb 25 1901 at Fort Fairfield the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Sutton) Fisher. She was a former Resident of Fort Fairfield where she graduated from Fort Fairfield High School Class of 1919 and Machias Normal School. She was employed for many years as a teacher in the Fort Fairfield elementary schools and in 1955 she became a resident of Lewiston having lived there for 20 years and was a housekeeper at Saint Patrick's Catholic rectory. Since 1986 she had been a resident of Dover NH. Mrs Downie is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip L and Barbara Downie of Bow NH., three daughters and sons-in-law Katherine and Edmund Scott of Methuen Mass., Rose Marie and David Roberts of Cumberland and Mrs Jean Lovely of Gonic NH., two sisters, Sr Mary Rosa of Portland and Gertrude Fisher of Lewiston, 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Monday Oct 17 1994 at St Denis Catholic Church Fort Fairfield with the Rev Joel Cyr celebrant. Interment will be in St Denis Catholic Cemetery Fort Fairfield. 2. LOVELY. Jean E. Lovely, 67, of Ledgeview Drive, Rochester, NH, died Saturday (Oct. 11, 1997) at the Dover Rehabilitation and Living Center after a long Illness. Born December 28, 1929 in Houlton, ME, she is the daughter of Arly and Elizabeth (Fisher) Downie. Mrs. Lovely has lived In Rochester for the past six years after moving from Newfields, NH. She worked as a sales associate for the Sears and Roebuck Co. She also worked for the Strafford County Home Makers for many years. Members of her family include her daughters, Janice Girard of Rochester and Jane Brezzo of Glastonbury; a son, John Ladd of South Berwick, ME; a brother, Philip Downie of Bow; her sisters.
