- DALE EDISON CHURCH, Dale Edison Church, 54, of 710 C St., Renton, a mechanic for The Boeing Co., died yesterday in a hospital after a short illness. Mr. Church was born in Wisconsin, came to Seattle in 1924, went to Maple Valley in 1924 and to Renton in 1948. He was a member of Diamond Lodge No. 89, F. & A. M.; Laurel Chapter No. 47, Order of Eastern Star, and the Modern Woodmen of America. Funeral services will be at 11 o'clock Tuesday in Stokes' Mortuary, Renton. Burial will be in Greenwood. Survivors are his wife, Lena; two daughters, Mrs. Charlene Hemphill, and Merna Church; a son, Gene Church, all of Renton; his mother, Mrs. Nora Church, Maple Valley; three brothers, Vernal and George Church, both of Renton, and Charles Church of Maple Valley; two sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Glidewell and Mrs. Lorraine Elliott, both of Maple Valley, and two grandsons. (Sept. 1964)- Longtime Renton resident Lena G. (Moroni) Church died Oct. 20, 2000, in Renton. She was 87. Born Feb. 4, 1913, in Black Diamond, Mrs. Church moved to Renton in 1947 and was a homemaker. She worked for eight years as a volunteer at Renton City Hall. Mrs. Church was a member of Renton First United Methodist Church, Laurel No. 47 and Nesika No. 54 Order of the Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters Crescent No. 12, Columbine Rebekah Lodge No. 112, West Side Italian Civic Club, the Independent Italian Society and three local historical societies. She also enjoyed knitting, reading and crocheting. Survivors include son Gene Church of Renton; daughters Charlene Dickey and Merna Lasco of Renton; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation is today from noon to 5 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Renton First United Methodist Church. Burial is a Greenwood Memorial Park.

Gene Church passed away peacefully, surrounded by his adorning family after a long and gallant battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Peni of 34 years, three children Kelli (Brandon) Slettevold, Kristi (Doug) Church Newsom and Jimmy (Megan) Church; seven grandchildren Brittney, Zachary, Cody, Nicole, Bryan, Jeffrey and Kayla; two sisters Charlene (Smokey) Dickey and Merna Lasco. Preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Lena Church. Gene was a life long resident of Renton where he attended Renton High Schol. He worked at the Renton Clothing Store for several years before joining Younker Nissan selling cars for his dear friend Sam Younker. He eventually purchased the Dealership and found himself and son Jimmy somewhat celebrities with their many years of Younker Nissan television commercials. Gene was very proud of his dealership and his team of employees whom he referred to as part of his family. He was an active supporter of the Renton Community and surrounding areas, participating in the annual Renton River Days parade and activities For the past 15 years, he sponsored a special Easter Egg Hunt for hundreds of children at the dealership receiving great joy from the children filling their baskets, receiving special prizes and having their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny. Gene was a devoted fan of basketball and baseball supporting the Seattle Sonics and Seattle Mariners with season tickets and attending as many of the games as possible. He was extremely family oriented and so proud of his children and loved being surrounded by his grandchildren. He and Peni took many family trips to Disneyland and enjoyed their personal get-a-ways to Arizona and Las Vegas. He had many interests, among those, were collecting antique cars that he restored, baseball cards and hot wheels. He was a member of the National Auto Dealer Assoc., Washington State Auto Dealer Assoc., Puget Sound Auto Dealer Assoc., American Import Auto Dealer Assoc., Green River Optimist Club and The Good Guys. Gene was a brother, friend and mentor to so many and gave of himself unselfishly to family and so many others. He is dearly loved and will be missed but never forgotten having touched so many lives. He would wish that remembrances be made to the American Cancer Society (Colon Cancer Research) or charity of your choice. On August 21st 1971, he married Donna Mae Junker from Abbotsford enjoying forty-nine years of marriage.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and restoring antique dressers. His greatest love was his taxidermy work which he knew he wanted to do from ten years of age. He never retired and operated the taxidermy business for forty-five years. He enjoyed his yearly fishing trips to Canada with family and friends as well as his trips out west.
Survivors are his wife, Donna Mae; daughter Tracy Schill (Lee) of Ironwood, MI; son David Rudolph of Stevens Point; son Michael Rudolph (Kelly) of Stevens Point; grandchild Samantha Schill of Ironwood, MI; step-brother Robert Fleenor of Abbotsford, WI.
Preceding him in death was his father Harold Rudolph and mother Joy Rudolph (Layman); Grandfather Charles Layman and Grandmother Emma Layman; Uncle Douglas Layman.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of the St. Croix Hospice team for all the gentle, loving care provided to him. Also thanks to the local congregation of Jehovah Witnesses for all their loving support.

Donna was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She had a quiet self-sacrificing spirit, always putting others ahead of herself. She worked beside her husband as a taxidermist, continuing to run the business even after his passing. She took great pride and joy working on her specialty, bear rugs. She was also known for her love of gardening, canning and caring for her cherished pets over the years.
Donna was an active member of the Thorp Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, volunteering countless hours helping others.
Survivors are her daughter Tracy (Lee) Schill of Ironwood, MI; sons: David Rudolph of Stevens Point and Michael (Kelly) Rudolph of Stevens Point; her sister Barbara (Charles) Wellner of Abbotsford, WI; her granddaughter Samantha Schill of Ironwood; and loving friend Barb Bjorge of Stanley, WI who thought of her as her own mother.
Preceding her in death was her husband Paul Rudolph and her parents Elmer and Virginia Junker.

Ernest, the son of Irvin Cleo and Sally Ann Daniels Scroggins was born June 6, 1949, in Toppenish, Washington. He passed away Friday, March 9, 2012, in Alexandria, LA. Mr. Scroggins was a native of Washington State; he has lived in Anacoco since 1999. He served in the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War. He was a disabled Vet, and received three Purple Hearts, one Bronze Star, and an Army Commendation for bravery. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife Deborah Scroggins.
He is survived by his sons, Andrew & Shannon Scroggins of Anacoco, Randy Scroggins of Leesville; daughters, Brandy Graham of Anacoco, Denise Campbell of Leesville; sisters, Virginia Kellar of Yakima, WA, Barbra Graham of Quinton, OK; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

She was born Nov. 5, 1926, to Martin and Ruby (Etziviler) Hayman in Garibaldi. As a young girl she moved to Newberg, where she was raised and educated, graduating from Newberg High School. She married William King in 1948 and traveled with him while he was in the military. He preceded her in death. She moved to Ohio, then Denver to work in Veteran's Administration hospitals. She returned to Newberg and married Willard Toler in Aug. 24, 1970. She worked in property management in the 1980s. She enjoyed playing bingo and gardening.
Survivors include: son Rodney King of Portland; daughters, Elaine Hamilton of Dundee, Kathy Gordon of Portland, Pattie DeYoung of Ocean Park, Wash., Rita King of Nehalem and Debbie Scroggins of Cameron, La.; sister Murel Conway of Newberg; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. CARLTON - Marvin R. Graham, 81, died Saturday in Newberg. He was born in Heaver, Okla., and raised on an Oklahoma farm. He married Gladys Williams on Oct. 13, 1932, in Poto, Okla. He moved to Arizona in 1937, then to Fresno, Calif, in 1941. He moved to McMinnville in 1960, and settled in Carlton in 1974. He was a farmer all his life, and loved to camp and fish.
