230. John Stickney was born 1 on 6 Feb 1769 in Newbury, Essex Co., MA. He died on 30 Mar 1835 in Raymond, Rockingham Co., NH. He married Jane "Jenny" Jackman on 9 Oct 1788 in Newbury, Essex Co., MA. [Parents]
JOHN STICKNEY, b. in Newbury, Feb. 6, bapt. Feb. 12, 1769; m. in Newbury, Oct. 9, 1788, Jane Jackman. He learned the trade of a shipwright, of Ralph Cross, at Newburyport, helped build the "Constitution"; planked up one side of her. Jan. 16, 1805, he, of Newburyport, Jr., shipwright, buys land in Newburyport, of Caleb Gibbs of Boston which he, with wife Jane, sell Jan. 17, 1805, to Henry Curtis. [Essex Deeds, 175 : 174.] From Newburyport he went to the State of Georgia, in the U. S. Government employ. He came to Salem about 1805, and worked in Turner and Briggs' shipyard, also in Kent's, Danvers. He died in Raymond, N. H., March 30, 1835. His widow d. in Boston, Jan. 14, 1844, aged 76.

1301. Jane, b. May 2, 1806; m. George Lewis; John Gillian; Frederrick Thompson; had son Sumner Lewis by first husband; lived (1863) in Somerville.
1302. Sally, b. May 12, 1808; m. John Roberts. She d. in Somerville, 1862.
