Mr. Shea, 61, was active in politics for many years. He worked for former Boston Mayor Maurice Tobin as an aide, and from 1949-52 was personnel manager of the Massachusetts Department of Public Works. From 1952 to 1964 he was personnel director of . the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority. He was a World War II Air Force veteran. Driver training certificates will be awarded to the students also for completing the driver training course, comprising both of classroom instruction and practice driving, in accordance with the standards established by the Mass. 11. Crash kills local woman
Lunenburg,- A 46-year-old woman was killed in a one-car accident on Massachusetts Avenue early Thursday morning. Barbara A. Sutton of 1790 Massachusetts Ave., was pronounced dead at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester around 1:20 p. m. Police officer Charles Demming said he was on patrol when he saw Sutton’s car against a telephone pole on Massachusetts Avenue near the intersection with Elmwood Road around 2 a. m. At the time, Sutton was lying unconscious in the car, he said. He said the Fire Department was called in to help extricate Sutton from the car. She was then sent to Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg and later transported to Umass-Worcester. Deming said he could not tell how much time passed between the time of the accident and when he spotted Sutton. He said it did not seem as if Sutton had been speeding, but the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. Wright-Roy funeral home is handling funeral arrangements. Police said the youngster was hurt when a group of unidentified youths tossed a firecracker in his direction. 11. Antilla Among Leading Archers
John Antilla, champion of the Leominster Sportsmen's Archers, placed among the first ten at a national shoot held recently at Walkins Glen, N.Y. Approximately 5,000 top archers from all 50 states competed in five different types of rounds shot daily for five days under all weather conditions. Antilla was in the lead for the first two days, when blisters developed on his shooting fingers. At a state sanctioned shoot held Sunday at the Riverside Archery Club in Hudson, 20 Leominster Sportsmen Archers competed with four other clubs consisting of Nigmue Archers of Hopedale, Old Colony Bowmen of Pembroke, Marlboro Archers, and Auburn Archers. The Leominster Archers placed second in this event. Barbara Sutton placed first in the Womens Class D Division with a score of 187. John Antilla won the money-bullseye event. Paul A. Sutton, 50, of 18 Nutting St. died Tuesday in Burbank Hospital after a brief illness. He leaves his mother, Mary Contuzzi of Fitchburg; three sons, Sgt. Brian K. Sutton of Nuremburg, Germany, David H. Sutton of East Longmeadow, and Michael A. Sutton of Leominster; a brother, Frank Contuzzi of Fitchburg; and four grandchildren. He was born in Fitchburg, son of the late Howard P. Sutton and Mary (Baldarelli) Contuzzi, and lived here all his life. Mr. Sutton worked for Baldarelli Plasters in Fitchburg, retiring in 1988. CLINTON Gertrude V. (McNamara) Timledge, 82, of 80 Lancaster Road, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of fifty years, John P. Timledge, died in 1997.
She leaves three daughters, Patricia A. Harlow of Westminster, Jonelle E. Zadroga of Clinton and Daria Timledge of Clinton with whom she lived; a sister, Eileen 'Peaches" Parker of Clinton; thirteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Many years ago, Gertrude opened her heart and home to help raise her two nephews, James C. McNamara, now of Florida, and Richard J. McNamara, now of Hawaii, and her niece. Two brothers, Timothy R. "Dickie" McNamara and James C. McNamara, and a sister, Mary Rose Sowa predeceased her.
She was born in Clinton, daughter of Timothy J. and Eileen M. (Conroy) McNamara and was a lifelong resident.
Gertrude worked at the former ITT Suprenant Co., Nylon Products, and retired in 1987 from Nypro, Inc. She also worked as a housekeeper for many years. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1941 where she had excelled at basketball and field hockey. She was also a member of the History Club. Gertrude was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. She was an avid Bingo player, and enjoyed camping, especially at the ocean.
Funeral services are private. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 1, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
2. CLINTON - John P. Timledge, 74, of 80 Lancaster Road, an engineer, died Tuesday in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Gertrude (McNamara) Timledge; four daughters, Patricia Harlow of Fitchburg, Jonelle Zadroga, Daria Timledge and Sharon McNamara, all of Clinton; a brother, Robert Timledge of Clinton; a sister, Phyllis Fitch of Sterling; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Clinton, son of Philip and Margaret (Devaney) Timledge. He graduated from Clinton High School and Worcester State College.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Timledge was an engineer for 12 years at Digital Equipment Corp. in Maynard. He was then an engineer at Polaroid Corp. in Waltham for many years before he retired. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and past president of the Polish-American Veterans.

WESTBOROUGH - James A. Dorsey, 80, of Westborough MA passed away peacefully on October 14, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife Dolores (Borgatti) Dorsey, son James A. Dorsey, Jr. and his wife Susan of Shirley, MA, son John P. Dorsey and his wife Elizabeth of Dorchester MA, sister Kathleen Kersus and husband Gerald of Holden MA, sister Lenore Monahan and husband Charles of Worcester, MA, and grandchildren Alicia, Ian, and Sean of Northborough, MA. James was the son of the late James and Kathleen Dorsey, and brother of the late John J. Dorsey.
James was born on July 18, 1937 in Worcester, MA. He graduated from Saint John's High School in Worcester MA, a three-season athlete with a particular knack for basketball. A graduate of the United States Military Academy of West Point, he was a captain in the Army and served in Korea. After leaving the military, James became a longtime executive at IBM, eventually moving back to Massachusetts to lead and grow several tech firms in the area. For the last 10 years, James has been an adjunct professor at many local colleges teaching courses in Human Resources and Management Strategy. James was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church and was a member of the John Boyle O'Reilly, Council 85, Knights of Columbus.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 18, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery.
Calling hours at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, are Tuesday, October 17, from 4 to 7 P.M.

SHREWSBURY- Philomena (Ricciardi) Borgatti, 96, of Shrewsbury and formerly of Worcester and East Dennis died Sunday, March 30th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center-University Campus after a brief illness.
Her husband of 55 years, Vincent A. Borgatti died in 1992. She is survived by two daughters, Dolores A. Dorsey and her husband, James of Westborough and Dianne M. Pakula and her husband, Thomas of Davidsonville, Maryland; three brothers, Pasquale Ricciardi of Worcester, Joseph Ricciardi of Shrewsbury and John Ricciardi of West Boylston; four grandchildren, James, John, Jennifer and Stephanie and 4 great grandchildren, Alicia, Ian, Sean and Thomas; also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Frank P. Ricciardi and five sisters, Lucy Babowitch, Mary Gerolomo, Ann Perrucci, Margaret Ricciardi and Theresa A. Galli.
Mrs. Borgatti was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Francesco and Margaret (Bovenzi) Ricciardi and attended the Worcester Public Schools. After raising her family, Philomena found that she had time on her hands, so she was hired at Spag's in1960 and retired from there in 1976.
In 1976, Philomena and her husband moved from Worcester to East Dennis to enjoy their retirement years, after his death in 1992, she remained on Cape Cod until her return in 2006 to reside at Southgate in Shrewsbury.
Philomena was very proud of her Italian heritage and tried to keep the traditions alive in her home by always cooking and having big Sunday Dinners with plenty of homemade pasta to go around for everyone. She was a loyal member and treasurer of the San Vitaliano Society in Worcester and also spent many hours' lovingly sewing and knitting articles for other people to enjoy.

She was born and raised in Worcester to the late Philomena and Vincent Borgatti. At the age of 15 she met the love of her life and husband of 58 years, the late James A Dorsey, also born and raised in Worcester.
She attended Becker Jr. College and upon graduating began working with the first female lawyer in Worcester. While raising 2 children she returned to school and received a BA in Education from URI. Her career over the years included being Office Manager of the Guidance Center of both New Canaan High School and Framingham State College.
She is survived by her sons James Jr. and his wife Susan of Shirley, MA and John and his wife Elizabeth of Dorchester, MA. Her 4 grandchildren, Alicia and her husband Edward Chibaro of Duxbury, MA, Ian Dorsey of Worcester, MA, Sean Dorsey of Arlington, MA, and Gwendolyn Gagne of Worcester, MA. She is also survived by her sister, Diane and her husband Thomas Pakula of East Dennis, MA
Due to the current pandemic situation a private celebration of her life will be held at St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Westborough, followed by burial at St. Luke’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

John J. Dorsey, Sr., of Worcester, died after a long illness.
John J. Dorsey, Sr., Esquire, a noted teacher and college professor passed away after a long illness, Thursday, May 17 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Center with family gathered at his side.
A lifelong resident of Worcester, John was born October 6, 1945 to the late James and Kathleen (Garvey) Dorsey. He graduated from Worcester public elementary and middle school and, in 1964, he attended St. John’s High School, class of 1964, which was one of the first classes to graduate from the new St. John’s High School, Shrewsbury campus. He was also a member of the St. John’s 1963 State Championship Basketball team. John then went on to earn his degree with honors in history at the College of the Holy Cross, where he was also a member of the Purple Key Honor Society. He furthered his education earning two masters degrees; a master’s in history from Assumption College, and a master’s in education from Worcester State College. He also earned his Juris Doctorate from New England School of Law in Boston.
Dorsey’s professional career included more 40 years as an educator. He taught at Marian High School briefly and North High School until 1978. He then became a full professor of legal studies at Becker College, where he has served as a member of the faculty until his death. During his tenure at Becker, he served as president to the Becker College Faculty Senate and Becker College faculty representative to the National Collegiate Athletic Association. John was also adjunct faculty at Assumption College in Worcester and Anna Maria College, Paxton. Throughout his teaching career, John received numerous achievement and outstanding teacher awards from the various schools including Becker. He was also known on campus for his popularity among students and faculty alike.
Dorsey also practiced law in Worcester after being admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1979. He worked as an attorney at law in private practice with John W. Connors. His practice also included serving in-house as the General Counsel at Saint Vincent Hospital from 1984-1988. In 1986, he was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington.
In addition to his established professional career Dorsey dedicated his service to volunteering for a number of charitable organizations including, the Boy Scouts of America, Mohegan Council, and Big Brother/Big Sister. He also served, as a volunteer reader for the Massachusetts Association of the Blind’s Audio Journal and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Worcester Area Association for Retarded Citizens.
John was also an avid athlete and athletic official. His prowess for place kicking was known throughout the Central Massachusetts region playing for a number of adult football leagues and being invited to try out as a walk on to the New England Patriots. He also served as both a football and basketball official. He officiated both ‘Pop Warner’ and high school football games. He was an officiating icon for 25 straight years as a at the annual Leicester High/David Prouty traditional Thanksgiving Day game. He officiated the last several of these 25 years despite suffering from an amputated foot. He also received the outstanding award for 25 years officiating this game.
John regularly officiated high school basketball games as well. His basketball career also included officiating an annual Jewish Community Center tournament on the famed parquet floor of the Boston Garden.
Dorsey was a member of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials-Board 26 since 1968, serving at various times as the organization’s president, vice–president, (1985-1986, 1984-1985) and as a member of the Ethics and by-laws Committee (1993 -1995). He was also a member of the Central Mass Conference of Football Officials from 1967-2004, serving as president in 1982 and vice-president in 1981 and member of the Ethic’s and By-law committees.
John will be remembered by his quick wit and constant sense of humor, which were appreciated throughout his life by all who knew him.
John is survived by his four children, John J. Dorsey Jr. and his wife Angelique of Wyncote, PA; Jennifer Dorsey of Portland, ME; James Dorsey and his wife Heidi of Auburn, and Erin Elizabeth Dorsey of Boston; five grandchildren John (III) “Jack” , Reid, Graham Dorsey of Wyncote, PA, Haydon and Declan Dorsey of Auburn; his former wife, Miriam (Harrahy) Dorsey of Worcester, his brother James A. Dorsey, and his wife Dolores of Westboro, his sister Lenore Monahan and her husband Charles of Worcester and Kathleen Kersus and her husband Gerry of New Jersey. He is also survived by his loving companion of the past seven years, Linda Halsdorff, with whom he lived.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcome toward the new John J. Dorsey, Sr. Memorial Scholarship at St. John’s High School, care of St. John’s Alumni Relations office, West Main St., Shrewsbury 01545.

2. Obit: Clinton - William T. “Bill” Burke, 91, died peacefully on Monday, December 20, 2021 after a period of declining health. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helena “Holly” (Boland) Burke; a son, William T. Burke II of Leominster; a daughter Kathleen Shaheen and her husband John of Nashua, NH; three grandsons: Michael J. Shaheen, Christopher W. Shaheen, and Patrick B. Shaheen. He is predeceased by a daughter-in-law Nancy G. Burke; brothers-in-law Maurice H. Boland, Jr., James E. Boland, Stanley J. Gorski; sisters-in-law, Mary B. Evans, Anna T. Boland, Helen Boland; and nephews James E. Boland, Jr., James E. Evans, and Mark B. Evans.
Bill was born in Clinton, son of the late Walter and Mary (Mulgrew) Burke on June 20, 1930. He graduated from Clinton High School, Class of 1949. He served in the US Navy on the USS Missouri as a radioman during the Korean Conflict. After leaving the Navy he returned to Clinton where he worked at the Colonial Press as a printer until its closing. Bill then went on to work at the Continental Baking Company as a route salesman until his retirement in 1992. Bill was well known locally for his boxing achievements. He was a multi-year winner of the Golden Gloves as a teenager. He went on to be a two time Massachusetts National Guard Champion and was the 1952 Atlantic Fleet Featherweight Champion. Bill was also an avid skier. He held a season pass at Wachusett Mountain into his 80s. Bill enjoyed his annual vacation to Aruba with his wife Holly. He loved to read and take daily walks. He was a life long member of St. John's Parish in Clinton, and a long time member of the American Legion. Most of all he loved spending time with Holly, his children, and grandchildren. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 10 until 11AM in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Nancy worked as the Administrative Assistant to the Headmaster at Cushing Academy in Ashburnham for close to 20 years. She enjoyed her job and all the wonderful friends she had at Cushing Academy. She was grateful to have such close friends who really showed their love when she became ill. Nancy took pride in taking care of her beautiful flower garden. She loved her annual vacations with Bill to Marco Island, Florida. She also enjoyed going on cruises and vacations in Las Vegas. Nancy was diagnosed with stage 4 Inflammatory Breast Cancer in January of 2013. She was a true inspiration to all who saw her battle with her illness. She endured endless chemo treatments and radiation. Nancy never gave up. She lived as much as she could knowing that her time was running out. Many of the vacations that she and Bill booked needed to be canceled due to her illness. She was very fortunate to be well enough to go on an Alaskan cruise last summer. The highlight of that trip for her was the Sled dog excursion. She was especially delighted holding the little sled dog puppies. Nancy was an avid animal lover, and a longtime supporter of animal charities. She adored her two Australian Cattle Dogs, Emmy and Sheriff. Nancy was miraculously able to take one more Las Vegas vacation in December. She had a wonderful time, highlighted with an Andrea Bocelli Concert. Words can not express the deep sorrow we feel from her passing.
