4. CLINTON
In the district court Thursday morning John Mulgrew was summoned on a bastardy warrant sworn out against him Wednesday evening by Ann O'Toole of South Main street. He pleaded not guilty and asked that the case be continued two weeks. He was placed under $500 bail, which, as late as Thursday evening, he was unable to obtain, so spent the day in the police station. The warrant for his arrest was sworn out Wednesday evening, about 10 o'clock, and he was arrested in bed, at his home on Summit street, about 10:30 o'clock Wednesday evening, by Officers Gibbons and Grady. He is a young man about 20 years of age and the girl is about 18 years old. (Worcester Daily Spy, March 16, 1894, p. 5)

Leominster, Mar. 6 - Mrs. Mary Etta (Hart) Mulgrew, 67, of 14 Morse place, died yesterday at her home after a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of this city. She was a past president of the William Chute auxilliary, U.S.W.V. She is survived by one son SGT Allan J. Mulgrew, U.S. army, stationed in England, and two brothers, Charles E. Hart of this city and Joseph Hart of Long Island, N.Y. The funeral will be held from the residence Wednesday morning followed by a high mass of requiem in St. Leo's church at 9. Mrs. Mary T. (Mulgrew) Garvey, wife of Arthur J. Garvey, died this morning at her home, 33 Colton street. She was born in Clinton, daughter of the late James M. and Honora (McGreevy) Mulgrew. She was a member of the Rosary Sodality of the Church of the Sacred Heart. Besides her husband, Mrs. Garvey is survived by a son, Arthur J. Garvey; two daughters, the Misses Kathleen M. and Louise B. Garvey; two brothers, John J. and Thomas B. Mulgrew of Boston, and two sisters, the Misses Annie M. and Selina Mulgrew of Watertown. The funeral will be held at her home Thursday morning, with a high mass of requiem in the Church of the Sacred Heart at 9 o'clock. The funeral of Arthur J. Garvey of 33 Colton street, Worcester postal worker for 28 years, treasurer of the Postal Credit Union and a past president of the Massachusetts Letter Carrier's association, who died of a heart attack Saturday afternoon, will be at his home, Wednesday morning at 8:15 o'clock. A solemn high mass of requeim will be celebrated in the Church of the Sacred Heart at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in the St. John's cemtery. Calling hours are from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.
He was past president of the Worcester branch of the National Letter Carrier's association, a member of Alhambra council, K. of C. the Holy Name society of the Church of the Sacred Heart and a past president and long-time member of the former Sacred Heart Total Abstinence society. He was the husband of the late Mary T. (Mulgrew) Garvey and is survived by a son, Arthur J. Garvey, Jr., two daughters, the misses Kathleen M. and Louise H. Garvey; two sisters, Lenore A., wife of Cornelius F. Murphy of Worcester and Anna I., widow of William J. Doherty of Cambridge and a brother, John F. Garvey of Cambridge. Pleasant street, yesterday afternoon. Dr. John J. Curley, associate medical examiner, pronounced death due to a heart attack. Mr. Flynn was bom in Ireland and lived in Leominster for many years.
