Police said the youngster was hurt when a group of unidentified youths tossed a firecracker in his direction. 11. Antilla Among Leading Archers
John Antilla, champion of the Leominster Sportsmen's Archers, placed among the first ten at a national shoot held recently at Walkins Glen, N.Y. Approximately 5,000 top archers from all 50 states competed in five different types of rounds shot daily for five days under all weather conditions. Antilla was in the lead for the first two days, when blisters developed on his shooting fingers. At a state sanctioned shoot held Sunday at the Riverside Archery Club in Hudson, 20 Leominster Sportsmen Archers competed with four other clubs consisting of Nigmue Archers of Hopedale, Old Colony Bowmen of Pembroke, Marlboro Archers, and Auburn Archers. The Leominster Archers placed second in this event. Barbara Sutton placed first in the Womens Class D Division with a score of 187. John Antilla won the money-bullseye event. Paul A. Sutton, 50, of 18 Nutting St. died Tuesday in Burbank Hospital after a brief illness. He leaves his mother, Mary Contuzzi of Fitchburg; three sons, Sgt. Brian K. Sutton of Nuremburg, Germany, David H. Sutton of East Longmeadow, and Michael A. Sutton of Leominster; a brother, Frank Contuzzi of Fitchburg; and four grandchildren. He was born in Fitchburg, son of the late Howard P. Sutton and Mary (Baldarelli) Contuzzi, and lived here all his life. Mr. Sutton worked for Baldarelli Plasters in Fitchburg, retiring in 1988. He was a former member of the Leominster Sportman's Association. Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. CLINTON Gertrude V. (McNamara) Timledge, 82, of 80 Lancaster Road, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of fifty years, John P. Timledge, died in 1997.
She leaves three daughters, Patricia A. Harlow of Westminster, Jonelle E. Zadroga of Clinton and Daria Timledge of Clinton with whom she lived; a sister, Eileen 'Peaches" Parker of Clinton; thirteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Many years ago, Gertrude opened her heart and home to help raise her two nephews, James C. McNamara, now of Florida, and Richard J. McNamara, now of Hawaii, and her niece. Two brothers, Timothy R. "Dickie" McNamara and James C. McNamara, and a sister, Mary Rose Sowa predeceased her.
She was born in Clinton, daughter of Timothy J. and Eileen M. (Conroy) McNamara and was a lifelong resident.
Gertrude worked at the former ITT Suprenant Co., Nylon Products, and retired in 1987 from Nypro, Inc. She also worked as a housekeeper for many years. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1941 where she had excelled at basketball and field hockey. She was also a member of the History Club. Gertrude was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. She was an avid Bingo player, and enjoyed camping, especially at the ocean.
Funeral services are private. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 1, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
2. CLINTON - John P. Timledge, 74, of 80 Lancaster Road, an engineer, died Tuesday in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Gertrude (McNamara) Timledge; four daughters, Patricia Harlow of Fitchburg, Jonelle Zadroga, Daria Timledge and Sharon McNamara, all of Clinton; a brother, Robert Timledge of Clinton; a sister, Phyllis Fitch of Sterling; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Clinton, son of Philip and Margaret (Devaney) Timledge. He graduated from Clinton High School and Worcester State College.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Timledge was an engineer for 12 years at Digital Equipment Corp. in Maynard. He was then an engineer at Polaroid Corp. in Waltham for many years before he retired. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and past president of the Polish-American Veterans.

Six students received their driver license yesterday at the Leominster High School. They were given the road test by inspector Herbert F. Page of the Fitchburg Office. They are Sandra E. Driver training certificates will be awarded to the students also for completing the driver training course, comprising both of classroom instruction and practice driving, in accordance with the standards established by the Mass. 11. Crash kills local woman
Lunenburg,- A 46-year-old woman was killed in a one-car accident on Massachusetts Avenue early Thursday morning. Barbara A. Sutton of 1790 Massachusetts Ave., was pronounced dead at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester around 1:20 p. m. Police officer Charles Demming said he was on patrol when he saw Sutton’s car against a telephone pole on Massachusetts Avenue near the intersection with Elmwood Road around 2 a. m. At the time, Sutton was lying unconscious in the car, he said. He said the Fire Department was called in to help extricate Sutton from the car. She was then sent to Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg and later transported to Umass-Worcester. Deming said he could not tell how much time passed between the time of the accident and when he spotted Sutton. He said it did not seem as if Sutton had been speeding, but the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. Wright-Roy funeral home is handling funeral arrangements. Francis "Frank" Anthony Contuzzi, 67 years old, of Leominster, was called home to be with the Lord on February 25th, 2020.
He was born on September 17, 1952 in Fitchburg, son of Ralph Contuzzi and Mary (Baldarelli) Contuzzi. He is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Sutton. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Maria Contuzzi and his three daughters: Kristin Elise and her husband Leon John Van Molle of Leominster, Undrea Ortwein of Fitchburg, and Gina Lewis and her husband John of Springfield. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, step-daughters, several cousins, aunts and uncles.
Frank was always proud of his long career in law enforcement. After over 25 years of service, he retired as a Sergeant from the Worcester House of Correction. He also served for many years a part time police officer for the Lunenburg PD.
Frank enjoyed vacations in Maine and always had a love for nice cars. Above all, he appreciated the simplicity of staying home enjoying a good ice-coffee and watching a good movie.

Contuzzi

He came to Warren in 1972 and moved to Hermitage in 1973. He was co-owner, with his wife, of the Middlesex Diner in West Middlesex, Pa. since 1975. He was also co-owner of P.J.’s Corner Cafe in Sharpsville, Pa. for the last 15 years. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Farrell, Pa., and St. Demetrios in Warren. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Maria Hionas Vournous of Hermitage, whom he married Oct. 13, 1973; two sons, John J. (Kara) Vournous and Peter J. Vournous, both of Hermitage; a daughter, Anna M. 2. Obit: John James Vournous of Hermitage, known to family and friends as Yanni, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Sunday (7-28-13) in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 37. John was born Sept. 26, 1975, in Warren, Ohio, a son of James and Maria Hionas Vournous. He was a 1994 alumnus of Hickory High School, Hermitage, and graduated magna cum laude from Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering technology. John was employed by Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc., Hermitage, and specialized in water, wastewater and energy projects. Those who worked closely with John understand the loss of a highly regarded and multi-talented co-worker, but more importantly, the loss of a trusted and valued friend. John was a part owner of the family businesses, The Middlesex Diner and PJ’s Corner Café. He was well-respected by fellow employees, clients, and contractors alike. Outside of work, he was an accomplished sous chef, line cook, restaurant manager, and ranch hand, whose passion and zest for life engaged everyone around him. He was an awesome husband, son, son-in-law, brother and friend who will be missed dearly by his family and friends. John loved spending time with his family, friends and beloved kitties. He was an avid New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He will always be remembered as a hard-working, comical, generous, and lovable man. 2. Obit: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday for Anthony James Adamo Sr. of Hermitage. He entered into eternal life Tuesday (7-23-13) in Hermitage with his family close by his side. He was 69. Mr. Adamo was born April 14, 1944, in New Castle, one of five children born to Anthony and Evelyn McTaggart Adamo. He was raised in New Castle and was a member of New Castle High School’s graduating class of 1962. Anthony began his working career at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. He was an entrepreneur and owned several businesses including Games n Things, Central Perk & Deli, and American Hair, all in Sharon. Anthony retired from Sharon Tube Co. at the age of 62, with 27 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann’s Church, Farrell; and attended Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex. He belonged to Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 455, New Castle; and American Legion Post 299 and the Sons of Italy Shenango Valley Lodge 875, both in Sharon. A veteran of the Air Force, he served both here and abroad in Spain and received an honorable discharge in 1965. His wife, whom he called his best friend, the former Virginia “Gini” Baldarelli, whom he married April 2, 1977, resides at home. He is also survived by: his four children, Tonya; Anthony Jr. and his wife Jana; Marc-Anthony and his wife Amy; and Chérie Rae; two sisters, Barbara Gadola and Rita Galati; and two brothers, Richard Adamo and Charles Adamo; and eight grandchildren, Anthony III, Caitlin, Contessa, Aaron, Kailee, Tyler, Ava and Roman. In his spare time, he loved to cook, dance, travel to Florida, spend time with his family and eight grandchildren, and care for his dogs, Whitie and Ginger. His family describes him as one of the most loyal, genuine, strong and compassionate men who “told it like it was.” He was often called “Scabuocci” and “Butchie” by his close friends and family. He was a true jokester through and through.
