1. Obit: Jodell Lee "Jody" Downhour, 54, of Havre passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016.
Cremation has taken place and services will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Eagle's Campground in Beaver Creek Park. Holland and Bonine funeral home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Jody was born July 4, 1962, to John and Jeanice (Crumb) Downhour in Faribault, Minnesota. She graduated from Karlstad High School in 1980 and attended Thief River Falls Vo-Tech where she received her certificate in cosmetology in 1982.
That same year, Jody moved to Glasgow, where she married Ray Greenough, and the couple was blessed with two sons. They later divorced, and Jody relocated to Havre with her boys. A few years later, she gave birth to a daughter.
After several years, she married Pete Cremer, and they had one son. They, too, later divorced.
Jody worked at Buttrey's, first in Glasgow, then Havre, for over 15 years. After leaving Buttrey's, she began working at Walmart, where she remained until her death.
Jody loved to fish, camp and float the Milk River. She enjoyed scrapbooking and rocking out to '80s music. Time with her family was incredibly special to Jody, and she absolutely treasured her grandchildren, especially her grandson Adriel Greenough, whom she raised.
She was a true animal lover, who adored all of her various pets.
Jody was especially proud of being 14 years clean and was an active member of NA, helping reach out to as many people as she could. Her favorite holiday was July 4, her birthday, and she loved all things red, white and blue.
Jody was preceded in death by her son Jared Downhour; her mother, Jeanice Downhour; and her nephew David Graham.
She is survived by her partner, Jeff Mosbrucker of Havre; her children, Ryan (Justine) of Havre, Robert (Chanette) Greenough of Glasgow, and Janae (Kan Sriplod) and Jordan Cremer, all of Havre; her fourteen grandchildren; her father, John Downhour Sr. of Havre; her siblings, John Downhour Jr. of Cut Bank, Jill Gideon (Gunnar Valdimarsson) of Havre, Jeff (Vicki) Downhour of Helena, Jen (Gordon) Graham, Judy (Mark) Hagenau, and Joel (Tammy) Downhour, all of Havre; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

2594 M iii Jared Allen Downhour was born on 7 Dec 1991 in Havre, Hill Co., MT. He died on 11 Apr 1994 in Havre, Hill Co., MT. Jared was buried in Harlem Cemetery, Harlem, Blaine Co., MT.

1. HAVRE (AP) — A 2-year-old boy was struck and killed Sunday by two freight engines that were linked together and moving through a rail yard, the Hill County sheriff said today. Jared Downhour was in the yard of his home with his mother, Jodell Downhour, and the family dog when the boy and the dog wandered onto the adjacent Burlington Northern track, Sheriff Tim C. Solomon said. The family home abuts the BN rail yard in Havre and no fence or hedge separates the home from the railroad tracks. The locomotives were being moved from one end of the rail yard to the other to be hooked onto an outbound Burlington Northern freight train, said G us Melonas, a BN spokesman in Seattle. “As the two engines came around a curve in the yard, they came upon a child on the track. The locomotive whistled and immediately applied the brakes, but the child was struck,” Melonas said. (Kalispell Daily Inter Lake, April 11, 1994, p. 1)

2. Jared Allen, 2, of Havre, Montana, died suddenly after a tragic accident near his home. He was born to Jodell Lee Downhour of Havre and Jason Allery of Malta, Montana. Though he only spent a short time with us, his memory will forever live in the minds and hearts of the many people whose lives he touched. His sweet giggle, bouncing brown curls, and large beautiful eyes are held as tender memories by many. He is survived by his parents, brothers Ryan, Robert and Jordan and sister Janae, maternal grandfather John L. Downhour Sr of Havre, paternal grandmother Pat Allery of Malta, Uncles: John Jr., Jeff, and Joel Downhour, Aunts, Jill Gideon, Jennifer Graham, Judy Hagenau, Jamie and Larissa Allery and many cousins and friends. He has been joined by maternal grandmother Jeanice Crumb Downhour, paternal grandfather Ron Allery and cousin David Graham.
